ABA Therapy Assistants will provide 1:1 therapy services to children in their home, school, or our
Bellevue clinic. You will complete 40+ hours of training combining both online modules and on-site
training. Training includes introduction to various ABA teaching techniques (e.g., discrete trial
teaching, naturalistic teaching, shaping, reinforcement), data collection, and behavior management.
Upon meeting competency assessment, you will be eligible to sit for the Registered Behavior
Technician exam offered by the BACB.
Program Supervisors will assess and design individualized treatment for children. You will provide
training and support to ABA Therapy Assistants as well as caregivers of the child. Collaboration
with other providers is critical to the success of the client, and you can expect to engage in
numerous opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Are you enrolled in a graduate program and seeking practicum or fieldwork experience? If you are,
look no further. Sum of Learning serves as a practicum site for the University of Washington BCBA
graduate program, and our BCBAs met requirements to supervise students pursuing certification.
Our Executive Director, Dr. Chung, was a graduate in the first cohort of the BCBA program back
in 2008. She continued to support the UW BCBA program throughout the years, and has served as
both practicum and on-site supervisor. Sum of Learning has an established “residency program” to
ensure graduate students are provided the opportunities to meet their experience standards.
