Career

Sum of Learning is seeking motivated ABA Therapy Assistants and BCBAs to join our team.
What We Offer:
Whether you are starting your career as a Therapy Assistant, a student in BCBA graduate program, a newly certified BCBA, or an already established BCBA, we offer the guidance and mentorship you need to succeed in your job. We have created a supportive environment with a foundation of learning and professional development, and are dedicated to fostering your career growth.

Our Commitment to Staff:
“Grooming and mentoring the next generation of ABA practitioners” is Sum of Learning’s mission. We have cultivated an organizational culture that focuses on fostering professional growth for passionate individuals who want not just a job but a career in ABA. Our staff is provided with a high level of clinical support, through high quality training program and evidence-based supervision practice. We also have a well-established infrastructure within our organization to support our staff administratively and provide them a safe and enjoyable working environment.
Who We Are Seeking:
ABA Therapy Assistants who are driven by the desire to learn, passionate about teaching, and enjoy being around children. You may hold or are working toward a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or another related field. You do not necessarily need to have experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities, but if you do, that is a plus. We hire many individuals whom do not have prior experience in ABA nor autism, and many of them have become rock stars after receiving training and ongoing supervision.

Program Supervisors who have rocked the BCBA exam or are currently in a preparatory period filled with coffee, coffee, and coffee. You have at least 3 years of experience working with children with autism and at least one of these years working in the home or clinic setting. We enjoy having newly certified as well as seasoned BCBAs in our team to help each other learn, grow, and shine together.
What You Do:
ABA Therapy Assistants will provide 1:1 therapy services to children in their home, school, or our Bellevue clinic. You will complete 40+ hours of training combining both online modules and on-site training. Training includes introduction to various ABA teaching techniques (e.g., discrete trial teaching, naturalistic teaching, shaping, reinforcement), data collection, and behavior management. Upon meeting competency assessment, you will be eligible to sit for the Registered Behavior Technician exam offered by the BACB.

Program Supervisors will assess and design individualized treatment for children. You will provide training and support to ABA Therapy Assistants as well as caregivers of the child. Collaboration with other providers is critical to the success of the client, and you can expect to engage in numerous opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Are you enrolled in a graduate program and seeking practicum or fieldwork experience? If you are, look no further. Sum of Learning serves as a practicum site for the University of Washington BCBA graduate program, and our BCBAs met requirements to supervise students pursuing certification. Our Executive Director, Dr. Chung, was a graduate in the first cohort of the BCBA program back in 2008. She continued to support the UW BCBA program throughout the years, and has served as both practicum and on-site supervisor. Sum of Learning has an established “residency program” to ensure graduate students are provided the opportunities to meet their experience standards.
